Our desktop ordering service enables buyers to make purchases directly from the suppliers in Bali. We source products from a wide variety of producers, with each manufacturer producing their own unique specialty. Graven Image is not a manufacturer nor does it sell any products, we act as a bridge between the supplier and the buyer. The advantage to you is that we remain completely impartial during the buying process. It is in our view vital that orders are thoroughly quality controlled by an independent party before final shipping.
Products are tested independently from the manufacturer.
Wood products are tested for a maximum 12% moisture allowance.
Products are tested for a standards of construction.
Products are tested for standards of Finish.
Products are tested for safety.
Please note:
(1) Our minimum order quantity is $ 2.500 or Euro 1.858.
(2) Products are priced according to the IDR (Indonesian
Rupiah).
(3) All products are exchange rate sensitive and will vary
according to the movements of the currency markets
(4) The minimum order limit is set due to the initial cost of
documentation and special packing required for LCL shipments (less than container loads). This makes the cost of delivery prohibitive for goods under the value of
$ 2.500.

It is in our experience, necessary for buyers before embarking on any “shopping” expedition to be completely familiar with the manufacturing “setup” here in Indonesia. Most of the materials for the production of handicraft & furniture are made from natural wood and plant resources. Although Indonesia has abundant supplies of material resources, the climate in Indonesia is tropical ....with high levels of humidity, especially during the rainy season.

1. It is paramount that the materials used for producing handicrafts & furniture are properly dried & prepared in order to avoid any cracking and molding.

2.Most manufacturers are classified here as supporting a cottage or home industry. The handicraft and furniture production is generally based around small family groups, therefore standards of quality and finish can vary significantly from supplier to supplier and from order to order.

3. It is important to understand that there are no industry quality control standards or benchmarks set in place here in Indonesia.

4.To insure good quality products, quality control standards should be set either by an experienced buyer or executed by an independent party familiar with the knowledge of the “pit falls” of bad and sloppy manufacturing practices. We do not recommend for finished orders to be simply packed and shipped without products first being carefully counted & quality controlled.

Bank transfers are often slow due to the setup between banking systems.We suggest placing your deposits using the Pay Pal system. Since the lead time from ordering to delivery can take up to 10 weeks, the suppliers can be processing your orders with in a matter of hours.The balance of payments can then be transfered through the banking systems at a later date.Please note that a 2% charge will be made on the value of the Pay Pal invoice.
It is our experience that some of the manufacturers selling Balinese products on "the internet" are not even aware of the most basic quality control standards, the result often ending up with the buyer getting a "hit & miss" product. Buying from certain dealers on the internet what might look like on paper to be a cheaper product, is often sacrificed at the expense of receiving unsalable merchandise. We at Graven Image guarantee that manufacturers maintain the standards required for global export markets.
